Who We Are

The Movement Gallery is a space created for all to express their artistry and creativity through dance and movement. Offering a variety of classes to all ages. TMG is an inclusive space, inviting performers of all levels of physical and intellectual abilities.

Weekdays, you can find us at the Altona Guide Hall and Saturday’s at Altona North Primary School.

Director - Cara Pepe

Cara began her dance journey at the age of two and a half years old, while attending her own mother’s dance school in Altona, The Jansen Dance Academy. She is originally trained in R.A.D (Royal Academy of Dance) Classical Ballet, as well as other styles including Tap, Jazz, Contemporary and Hip Hop. Cara has completed RAD Classical examinations and has been awarded for her performance in CSTD (Commonwealth Society of Teachers of Dance) examinations. She started working professionally at the age of 14 and has made many appearances on stage and television. Performing for artists such as, Jessica Mauboy, Guy Sebastian, Cassie Davis, Brian McFadden, David Campbell and The Black Eyed Peas. She has performed throughout the U.S and nation wide, along with training under some of the top choreographers in Los Angeles, specialising in heels technique. Cara has choreographed music videos and live performances for various local artists and events. 

Cara has 20 years of dance teaching experience. She also enjoys working in children’s education, assisting students with neurodiversity’s in the classroom, as well as teaching social thinking programs. She is passionate about helping others in the community and works in adult disability support, as well as teaching dance programs through various local community education centres. Cara is a qualified personal trainer and obtains a Certificate IV in Disability. She is commencing further study by beginning a Certificate IV in Allied Health, focusing on Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy. 

Cara has always encouraged young dancers to strive for versatility and express themselves through various styles of movement. She is excited to open The Movement Gallery to performers of all ages and provide a space where all are welcome, regardless of their intellectual or physical abilities.
